Commissioned Artwork

Do you have a stained glass project that you would like to commission Timothy Jameson to complete? Currently, the artist is accepting stained glass window commissions, stained glass Tiffany lamp reproduction commissions, and small fused glass artwork commissions. Mr. Jameson specializes both copper foil and leaded glass production techniques.

Mr. Jameson can create your piece through photos, designs, or through your conceptualizations. Here is the process of commissioning an art piece:

1) Contact Mr. Jameson and first discuss your ideas. The location of the art piece, installation needs, style of the piece, your goals, your design ideas, and specific photos or representations of your desired project will be discussed.

2) If Mr. Jameson agrees to further consider the project, then he will ask you to send more information about the space, photos, dimensions, color preferences, etc. to begin contemplating a drawing, or to seek an already existing design that is available to purchase online. Many times there are copyrighted designs that are already available to purchase and reproduce. This saves a great deal of expense.

3) If you desire the artist to create a custom design for you, there is a $150 per hour design fee, payable in advance and is non-refundable. (The design fee is not included in the cost of the physical creation of the window). In most cases Mr. Jameson will attempt to find a design that is already available, or similar to what you desire to save on your design costs.

4) A working design and expected window cost will then be presented and you will determine if you want to proceed forward. If you agree to the design and desire to hire Mr. Jameson to complete the project, a 25% down payment on the estimated total cost is required at this time.

5) You will be provided color choices for the project and also be shown the progress of the project on a weekly basis.

6) Upon completion of the piece, the final 75% of the total costs will be paid before the artist provides the artwork to the client.

Installation of the work will be discussed beforehand. In most cases, the artist only provides the stained glass window or lamp. You will be responsible for installation through a local contractor or handyman. If you need a referral, Mr. Jameson can provide the name of contractors familiar with glazing and glass installation.
